Phillip Charles Burks, 89, of Carson City, died July 21, 2009, at the Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center. He was born March 12, 1920, in Washington D.C. He is survived by his son Ben Burks of Carson City; daughter, Deanna Spingola of Illinois; sisters Gladys Wade and Wasle McKinty; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. A funeral service for Phillip will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Walton's Chapel of the Valley. A private burial will take place at Walton's Carson Gardens Cemetery.
