RENO (AP) " Authorities say a Susanville, Calif., man is facing federal child pornography charges after his wife allegedly found a digital photo card and turned him over to authorities.
Forty-seven-year-old Ronald Eugene Bernal made an initial appearance in U.S. District Court in Reno on Monday.
According to a criminal complaint, Bernal's wife said she found the memory card when it fell out of her husband's jacket.
Police officials say it contained 43 images of young girls.
The complaint says his wife didn't immediately contact authorities, but confronted her husband and made him promise to get counseling.
The complaint says she turned the images over to the Lassen County sheriff's office last week after he attended only one session with a local pastor in recent weeks.
