Betty Denison passed away at her Carson City home May 29, 2009. Betty was born April 16, 1925 in Dixon, Illinois and was 84 years old at the time of her death.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Russ and Kathy Denison of Guernsey, Iowa; grandchildren Rebecca and Rob Oberg of Reno, Rusty, Luke, and Laura Denison all of Iowa; five great-grandchildren and numerous sisters, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Her husband Paul Denison, daughter Penny Lewsader, and many of her 14 brothers and sisters preceded her in death.
Betty worked as a Unit Secretary at Torrance Memorial Hospital in Torrance, Calif. and after retirement spent many hours volunteering at the Nevada State Library for the Blind and Lone Mountain Cemetery.
Betty (also known as Bed-Bed, and Grandma Betty) will be sorely missed by her family. She was the foundation of the family, keeping many generations linked together. We'll miss her advice, helping hands, and unconditional love.
A memorial service will be at 1 p.m., Monday, June 15 at Veteran's Memorial Cemetery, Fernley.
