RENO - The Nevada Bighorns summer college baseball team brought out the big bats to pull off a comeback for an impressive 15-10 win over the Reno Astros Wednesday at Moana Stadium.
The Bighorns trailed 7-0 after three innings, but went on to pound out 20 hits for the comeback win.
The Bighorns went on to take an 11-10 lead before scoring four insurance runs in the ninth inning for the final margin.
Jeff Young went 3-for-4 with two RBI and a triple and Adam Anderson was 3-for-5 with an RBI.
Matt Winters went 1-for-3; Travis Ice, Kevin Schlange, Sam Feiner and Brett Lisher all had two hits; Shane Kockenmeister and Ryan Lane each went 1-for-1 as both had run-scoring pinch hits and Ray Barratt and Eric Maupin each added a hit.
Sam Feiner is the older brother of former Western Nevada College standout Travis Feiner. Sam Feiner played at Colorado Northeastern Community College.
D.J. Brady pitched two innings for the win while Maupin pitched a scoreless ninth.
The Bighorns (5-5) will next play in a four-game series this weekend at John L. Harvey Field against the San Francisco Seagulls.
Saturday's doubleheader starts at 3 p.m. and Sunday's doubleheader gets under way at 10 a.m.
