Water at Last: The Board of State Capitol Commissioners yesterday effected the purchase of a spring of water situated in Riddle or Rose canyon, about two and a half miles from the capitol building. The seller deeds his right and title to the water, with 120 acres of land, to the State for $2,000 cash with a guarantee of a recommended payment of a balance of $3,000. The water will be used for the State Capitol building and Orphans' Home.

Ladies of the Eastern Star gave the Appeal man his this afternoon when he paid the grand chapter an "official" visit in search of information (on the election of officers). The grand matron emphasized the refusal (to talk) by banging her gavel. That effectually shut off all argument, parts of argument, or disputation. Profane eyes are not supposed to rest upon the sanctum of the grand lodge of the Eastern Star. Maybe we can wheedle the information out of them (the new officers). We doubt it, however.

Miss Sade Grant, who has been confined to her home the past couple of days because of an injured foot, is recovering and expects to be able to resume work Monday.
