Kelly Hodges of Carson City was awarded a bachelor of science degree in engineering during Harvey Mudd Colleges 51st commencement ceremony on May 17. Hodges was among 164 students who were awarded baccalaureate degrees at the ceremony

Inventor and entrepreneur Dean Kamen was the keynote speaker.

Harvey Mudd College is a national leader in undergraduate education in engineering, science and mathematics, with a strong emphasis on humanities, social sciences and the arts.

Tara Rispin, a 2005 Carson High School graduate graduated from Lindenwood University, St. Charles, Mo. She earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Musical Theater and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theater Arts Management. She is the daughter of Marjorie and Jeff Rispin of Carson City. She plans on auditioning in the fall for a major cruise lines.

Carson City resident Alexander Updegrove was named to the Dean's List for the Spring Semester at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, N.Y.
