The remains of Columbus Phillips, which were found in Marlette Lake, and buried near that place after the Coroner's inquest was held, will be disinterred and reburied in a cemetery by the Grand Army of the Republic, of which Phillips was a member.

Lovely Chinkapin Falls. Several Carson City folks, who saw in The Appeal an item in relation to the falls in Franktown Creek, and thereby learned for the first time there are such falls, have visited the place and all come back talking of the beauty of the cataracts. The warm weather has melted in the snow and the creek is full of water, making the 100-foot drop a thing of beauty.

Residents of the eastern part of the city and along the prison road had an opportunity to gain an insight into dust bowl conditions in the Middle West. The dust, ashes and debris rose high in the air this afternoon from the burned-over area south of the prison road, formed a dense cloud and screen that made the state prison invisible from the town and likewise shut off a view of town from the prison.
