Dead: The oldest attache of Wells, Fargo, & Co.'s office in this city is dead. The vicissitudes of his life were many, and he had numerous hairbreadth escapes; but his death ensued from natural causes. Several times in the course of his dissipated career was "Buster" taken by the dog catcher; and had it not been for a kind and considerate master, he would have long before this met with the ignominious fate in store for worthless curs. He has crossed into the sphere put aside for the spirits of defunct animals. He was a barker that would not bite; He was a coward that would not fight.

100 years ago

The Park Theater has secured a number of reels of new motion pictures that are being shown this week for the first time in the city. The large audience, which gathered last night, went away with a full determination to go again. Go tonight and see "The Mourners," "His First Cigar," "A New Year," "Red Cloud the Indian Gambler," and lots of others just as good.

The inaugural "Picnic Carnival" will be held in Zephyr Cove to benefit the Carson-Tahoe Hospital, according to general chairman Mrs. William Orr of Glenbrook. Entertainment during the day will include boat rides, children's races, cakewalk, fishpond, grab bag booth and a special "make-up booth."
