RENO - Two men convicted of killing a tourist at a downtown Reno motel have been sentenced to two life prison terms without parole.

Frank Smith and DelJuan Goodlow were convicted in April for the May 2007 shooting death of Royce Riley at the Lido Inn.

Authorities say the two exchanged words with Riley at the motel earlier that day. The pair returned to his room later that night and kicked at his door and broke a window.

Prosecutors say Goodlow fired a gun from outside the door, hitting Riley in the leg. When Riley wouldn't come out, Smith reached inside and shot him in the chest.

Riley was visiting Reno with his wife.

Smith and Goodlow are both from Stockton, Calif. They were sentenced Tuesday by Washoe District Judge Steven Kosach.
