Sen. Harry Reid, D-Nev, said Nevada will get another $52 million in unemployment insurance funding through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.
He said the funding, announced Tuesday, is in addition to the $25 million the state received earlier this month.
Nevada qualified for the money after agreeing to extend benefits to part-time workers and those participating in training programs as well as those who leave employment for "compelling family reasons."
He said the primary reason for the economic recovery package is to get people back to work.
"However, we can't forget about those who need training to become re-employed or who are already working as much as their family situation allows," he said.
Reid said that is the purpose of these funds.
