PORTLAND, Ore. - Reno's offense was limited to just three runs over the course of two games Friday night, as the Portland Beavers swept a doubleheader over the Aces to conclude the series at PGE Park.

In game one, the Beavers jumped on top early and never looked back, cruising to a 10-3 victory. Reno starter Hector Ambriz (3-5) had his roughest outing of the season, being tapped for nine runs on eight hits over three-plus innings.

The game one winner was Portland starter Tim Stauffer (1-0), who scattered two runs on three hits over five innings of work.

For Reno at the plate in the opener, Rusty Ryal homered and Chris Roberson finished 3-for-3 with a run scored and an RBI.

In the nightcap, Portland pushed across two runs in the third inning and that would be enough, as the Beavers shutout the Aces 2-0.

Aces starter Bryan Augenstein (1-3) was pinned with the loss, despite allowing just two runs over four innings of work. Jonathan Ellis (6-3) picked up the win, tossing 1.2 scoreless frames of relief.

Trent Oeltjen collected two hits for the Aces in the finale.

The Aces return home on Saturday for a four-game series against the Tacoma Rainiers. In the opener, Cesar Valdez (6-4, 3.50 ERA) toes the slab for Reno, while Andy Baldwin (5-4, 4.81) gets the nod for Tacoma. First pitch is set for 7:05 p.m. Saturday's game will be highlighted by the inaugural Mayor Bobblehead Showdown.
