A certain Italian has been the comment of the people at Diamond Station. He would tear down his cabin and then rebuild it, repeating the process every few days. After taking in a large supply of provisions in Eureka, he returned to his home in Diamond and put his provisions away. On Monday he led his horse out of the stable and tied it in front of his cabin door. Not long after he reappeared with his arms full of flour, bacon and beans laying it out in front of the animal. He then repeated the process several times attempting to get the animal to eat. Several men came by and witnessed the proceeding when the Italian straightened up and in slow solemn tones, declared that the horse was his father, and as a dutiful son he was bound to provide him with the best edibles he had. - Eureka Leader.
