A Carson City father was arrested Thursday afternoon after he allegedly left his infant daughter alone in a car while he was in a casino.

Curtis Vernon Ferguson, 22, was arrested at 3:25 p.m. in the 3800 block of Highway 50 East on suspicion of gross misdemeanor child endangerment.

According to the arrest report, two women parked their vehicle next to Ferguson's in the Slot World parking lot. When they got out, they saw the child sitting alone in the back seat and no adults around.

The women, not wanting to leave the child alone, stayed nearby and called 911. While the women waited for the police, a man entered the car and sat with the child and the women left.

Casino surveillance video allegedly showed Ferguson walking away from the car and entering the casino.

Four minutes lapsed between the time Ferguson went into the casino and another man came out and got into the vehicle with the child, according to the arrest report.

Ferguson's bail was set at $2,500.

The child was released to her mother.
