Health Inspections

Carson City Health Department's food-service inspections for the week of March 9 (all scores are on a 100-point scale, with points deducted depending on the severity of violations):

- Wal-Mart Supercenter No. 3408, 3200 Market St., retail grocery, scored 100 points.

- Save Mart Supermarkets No. 552, 3620 N. Carson St., produce department, scored 100 points.

- Save Mart Supermarkets No. 552, 3620 N. Carson St., coffee cart, Starbucks, scored 100 points.

- Save Mart Supermarkets No. 552, 3620 N. Carson St., bakery, scored 100 points.

- Mi Casa Too, 3809 N. Carson St., bar/lounge, scored 98 points. There is no hand soap or disposable paper towels at the handsink.

- Schwans Sales Inc., 45 Red Rock, wholesale distributing, also Tony's Pizza Trucks, scored 100 points. The facility main freezer and the Schwan truck No. 4928 freezers were clean and well maintained.

- Video Centro Mini Mart, 2765 E. Highway 50 No. A, take out, scored 100 points.

- Video Centro Mini Mart, 2765 E. Highway 50 No. A, meat department, scored 100 points.

- Video Centro Mini Mart, 2765 E. Highway 50 No. A, convenience store, scored 100 points.

- Video Centro Mini Mart, 2765 E. Highway 50 No. A, bakery, scored 100 points.

- Seven Eleven No. 2236-15833, 3083 E. Highway 50, convenience store, scored 97 points. The sanitizer bucket contained wiping cloths in dirty water with no detectable sanitizer. There was no certified food handler present during the time of this inspection.

- Men Wielding Fire Inc., O of T, Reno, mobile food vehicle, caterer, scored 100 points.

- Carson High School, 1111 S. Saliman St., school cafeteria fee exempt, Senator's Cafe, scored 100 points.

- Carson High School, 1111 S. Saliman St., school cafeteria fee exempt, Carson City School District Central Kitchen, scored 100 points.

- Carson High School, 1111 S. Saliman St., food facility fee exempt, sports field concession stand, scored 97 points. An uncleanable wooden board is being used for a shelf over the 3-compartment sink. The utensil bucket holding clean utensils is dirty inside bottom. The popcorn popper unit was not cleaned after the last event in this facility.

- Carson High School, 1111 S. Saliman St., school cafeteria fee exempt, gymnasium snack bar, scored 97 points. There are no thermometers in the cold units. The corn popper was not cleaned after the last use of this facility. Containers holding clean utensils are dirty inside bottom.

- Carson High School, 1111 S. Saliman St., food facility fee exempt, Culinary Arts Kitchen, scored 100 points.

- Carson High School, 1111 S. Saliman St., school cafeteria fee exempt, snack bar Senator's Cafe, scored 100 points.

- Carson City Municipal Golf Course, 3999 Centennial Park Dr., restaurant, Eagle's Landing, scored 91 points. Found a variety of prepared food in the various refrigerators and freezers without labels showing the date and common name. The foods (including turkey, ham, and other meats) were at 42F in the reach-in refrigerator number two and not held at 40F or less. The handles of scoops in the salt, flour, and ice at the front counter were touching the food. The ice scoop holster at the ice machine contained dust and debris and the ice scoop was stored in it. This was corrected on the spot. The ice machine ice chute contained some lime build-up. The mop bucket was found with dirty water in it. This was corrected on the spot. No certified person was present during the time of this inspection.

- Carson City Municipal Gold Course, 3999 Centennial Park Dr., bar/lounge, scored 100 points.

- Daily Detour, The, 1263 S. Stewart St., food facility fee exempt, scored 100 points.

- Longs Drug Store No. 9842, 1980 N. Carson St., convenience store, scored 100 points.

- Adele's, 1112 N. Carson St., bar/lounge, scored 100 points.

- Adele's, 1112 N. Carson St., restaurant, scored 97 points, several reach-in units are without thermometers. All cold unit temperatures are proper. Upper half of ice machine needs cleaning.

- Nice and Easy Catering, O of T, Sun Valley, mobile food vehicle catering, scored 97 points. There was no sanitizing solution available for wiping cloths used for cleaning food contact surfaces. There was no certified food handler present during the time of this inspection.

- Carson City Parks, Fuji Park, 701 Clear Creek Rd., food facility fee exempt, Exhibit Hall and Kitchen, scored 100 points.
