Carson City
The following people were booked into the Carson City Jail. All suspects are innocent until proved guilty in court:
- Jeff Thomas McCauley, 51, of Reno, was arrested at the Wal-Mart store in north Carson City Friday afternoon on five felony charges involving the use of another person's identity to buy electronics and returning them for a cash refund. McCauley allegedly altered a driver's license of a Reno man who is in a coma, and used checks from that person's account to buy a video game system and camcorder. He then tried to return the items to the Wal-Mart store on Topsy Lane for a cash refund. That store only accepted one of the items, because the other one was missing parts, and McCauley tried coming back to first store to return that item, where he was apprehended. McCauley was charged with forgery, obtaining money by false pretenses, identity theft, uttering a forged instrument, and using a false ID. Bail was set at $20,000.
- Kimberly Dawn Fuzzell, 20, of Carson City, was arrested early Saturday morning in the 100 block of Telegraph Street for felony use of a false identification, felony minor gambling, and misdemeanor minor consuming alcohol. Officers responded to a dispute between a couple at a bar. They detained a man involved in the dispute, and searched for the woman who they thought might have been battered. An officer found Fuzzell inside a nearby casino, and she gave him a driver's license and stated her name was Shawna. After cashing out her winning from a video poker machine, the officer took her back to the scene of the dispute with her boyfriend. He called her by her real name, at which time Fuzzell gave the officer her real driver's license. Bail was set at $20,150.
- Brian Afton Ford, 23, of Reno, was arrested Friday evening in the 3300 block of Highway 50 East for felony possession of cocaine and a misdemeanor warrant for failure to appear. While investigating a petty larceny report, officers spotted Ford acting suspicious. After observing Ford gambling, the officer asked him his age, and his ID. A records check revealed an outstanding warrant. After Ford was placed under arrest, approximately 1 gram of cocaine was found in his pocket. Bail was set at $3,015.
- An 18-year-old unemployed Carson City man was arrested early Saturday morning at Woodside Drive and Danton Drive for misdemeanor obstructing an officer and a minor consuming alcohol. The subject was seen riding a bicycle with no lights or reflectors on Woodside Drive. When the officer tried to stop the subject, he rode away. A citizen later reported the subject was hiding under a car, and was apprehended near an apartment building. He had a strong odor of alcohol, and a preliminary breath test showed a blood alcohol level of .11. Bail was set at $627.
- A 19-year-old unemployed Carson City man was arrested Saturday morning at College Parkway and Retail Drive for a misdemeanor contempt of court warrant. Bail was set at $500.
- A 52-year-old cabinet maker from Carson City was arrested Friday night in the 2400 block of North Carson Street for misdemeanor second offense DUI, driving on a revoked license and a bench warrant. After responding to a report of a man arguing with the manger of a business, the subject was found by his truck with the driver's door open. He admitted that he had driven the truck to that location, and a preliminary breath test showed a blood alcohol level of .15. Bail was set at $7,264.
- A 22-year-old Gardnerville man was arrested Friday afternoon in the 600 block of Stewart Street for misdemeanor obstructing and violating a suspended sentence. Officers witnessed a domestic argument between a man and a woman taking place in a parking lot. By the time they turned around, the man was gone. Another officer spotted the subject at a motel, where the subject jumped from the second floor balcony and ran. We was apprehended, and a records check showed an outstanding warrant. Bail was set at $3,407.
- A 22-year-old Carson City man was arrested Friday evening in the 3300 block of Highway 50 East for misdemeanor petty larceny. Store personnel had stopped the subject after he allegedly tried to leave the store without paying for two bottles of vodka. Bail was set at $347.
- A 22-year-old Stagecoach man was transferred to Carson City Jail from Douglas County Friday evening on two misdemeanor contempt of court warrants. Bail was set at $1,112.
