FALLON " A man accused of committing hundreds of sex crimes against children and who is representing himself at his June 15 trial will be transported to Churchill County twice a week to meet with his standby counsel to prepare for his case.
Daniel Green, 42, an inmate at the Northern Nevada Correctional Center in Carson City, appeared before District Judge Leon Aberasturi Thursday. Green told the judge he could not go forward with his defense because he did not have legal documents with him.
Aberasturi ruled for Green to be transported back and forth twice a week from Carson City to review the evidence against him.
Green was sentenced in October to 19 months to four years in prison on a previous charge for failing to register as a sex offender. He was sentenced so he could go immediately to prison since his trial centering on the sex crimes was months away.
Charges against Green include lewdness with a child under the age of 14, use of a minor in the production of pornography and 265 counts of possession of child pornography.
Earlier, Green had requested all of the evidence, including pictures of child pornography, saying he had to view them to prepare for trial.
Aberasturi told him he would be allowed limited access to evidence, since the prison does not allow child pornography.
