Carson City
The following people were booked into the Carson City Jail. All suspects are innocent until proved guilty in court:
- Sean Thomas Duffy, 18, of Carson City, was arrested Friday night in the 500 block of East William Street for felony uttering a forged instrument and misdemeanor violation of suspended sentence. The subject was detained for trying to pass a counterfeit $20 bill. The man said he received the bill from a friend of his mother, but refused to take officers to his residence. Bail was set at $8,500.
- A 33-year-old Carson City man was arrested early Saturday morning in Brunswick Canyon for a misdemeanor warrant. The subject was contacted while officers checked out a report of a bonfire in the area, and a records check revealed the outstanding warrant. Bail was set at $832.
- A 24-year-old garage door installer from Carson City was arrested early Saturday morning in the 300 block of North Carson Street for misdemeanor DUI first offense and unsafe backing. An officer saw the subject backing rapidly out of a parking space with two passenger doors open, and while people were trying to exit or enter the vehicle. Officers noticed a strong smell of alcohol coming from the subject, who said he was "sorry for being so drunk." After failing four field sobriety tests, the subject was arrested. Bail was set at $1,199.
- A 45-year-old homeless man was arrested Friday night near the intersection of Highway 50 and Carson Street on a misdemeanor charge of being a drunken pedestrian. An officer observed the subject walking on Highway 50. A breath test registered a blood alcohol level of .221. Bail was set at $67.
- A 45-year-old Carson City man was arrested Friday evening in the 800 block of East Fifth Street for misdemeanor violation of suspended sentence. In the process of serving a warrant, officers found the subject in front of his apartment building. Bail was set at $1,000.
- A 20-year-old Carson City man was arrested Friday morning in the parking lot of the Sheriff's Office, 897 E. Musser St., for misdemeanor criminal contempt. An officer was approached by a father and son in the parking lot who were very agitated and screaming at each other. The father said he wanted the son arrested. A records check revealed the son was on alternative sentencing, with a no-alcohol clause. He admitted to drinking a couple of shots of alcohol earlier that night. A preliminary breath test showed a blood alcohol level of .138. Bail was set at $500.
