Taste of Downtown

Tickets for the "Taste" go on sale Monday at Classy Seconds, Khristopher's Cafe, and the Carson City Convention and Visitor's Bureau.

If you haven't tried Feisty Goat Pub, Catered Affair, or The Alley Expresso Cafe and the other 33 fabulous establishments on the Taste of Downtown tour, this is the night to bite into Carson City's fine dining. Only $35 gets you samples from 36 restaurants and music from eight bands that include Retro Grade Motion, Deep Ellum, Mark Castro Band, Redshift, Road Daddy Road Dawgs and Tahoe Dance Band. The event benefits the programs for Advocates to End Domestic Violence.

High Sierra Swing Dance Club

If you ever wanted to dance with your daughter on her wedding day or wow the woman in your life with some dance moves, then sign on up with the High Sierra Swing Dance club for the four-week series of dance lessons held in the Brewery Arts Center, Grand Ballroom. Don't miss out on this performance. It stars you.

Mile High Jazz Band explores 'Courting'

The Mile High Jazz Band and vocalist Sheryl Adams will be joined by local poets for a lively evening of big-band jazz music and poetry. The theme of "Courting" will be explored in the words in the poems read and the musical selections played. Krista Benjamin, Rita Geil, and other award-winning poets will be featured with the Mile High Jazz Band, lead by David Bugli.

Carson Sertoma annual golf tourney

Here's your chance ladies to pay back your men for signing up for dance lessons and dragging them through town for the "Taste." Go join them on the links for a great charity golf tournament event.

The annual Carson City Sertoma golf tournament helps local children in a big way with hearing/speech problems as well as cancer and diabetes. Come join this organization "fore" a fun day of golf. Includes awards for closest to hole, and long-drive contests. Hole-in-one wins a new car. Hole sponsorships and donations are also being sought.
