It's May, and we have fun from jazz to golf to drama.

The Misfits are coming to Carson City for, I believe, the first time. Carson City Soroptimist International's "Melodrama in May" features the very talented Dayton performance group.

Don't miss this show hosted by these outstanding women who fund several scholarships for women and children.

Mile High Jazz Band presents "Jazz in the Merry Month of May," big-band jazz favorites in the Basie/Ellington tradition.

If you complain that there are no mellow places to just hang out, try Comma Coffee. Of course, I go for the food and coffee, but my friend Lynn Berry swears by the dance nights.

So if you and your special someone want to enjoy some fabulous jazz, come down. While you're there, try the dance lessons also.

With the beautiful weather finally here, you can count on some charity golf tournaments.

To begin this year's season, the Carson Sertoma Club Annual Charity Golf Tournament is June 3. The club donates all proceeds to help children with hearing and speech difficulties.

If you cannot play, you can help a child by sponsoring a hole with your name or your business' name.

Bragging rights are up for grabs for holes-in-one and longest drive.
