A power outage that affected about 2,000 West Carson City residents Wednesday night was caused by a faulty piece of equipment at the Curry Street substation, an NV Energy official said Thursday.
The Wednesday outage lasted from 8:40 p.m. to 9:49 p.m., said Faye Andersen, a spokeswoman for NV Energy.
On Thursday, inspectors found the piece of equipment responsible for the outage, which pumps power in and out of the substation.
Andersen said crews were repairing the equipment on Thursday and that customers would not notice any disturbances.
