Stilts: The boys who stalk about on stilts will find they can put their skills to practical use. It requires a peculiar means of locomotion, especially when the mud is deep. The ambitious boy travels in a little higher pair of stilts and can run as fast as a horse, skipping along the ground. Some strap the stilts to their legs and climb a tree to get a start.

120 YEARS AGO

All sorts: Alf Doten of the Enterprise was in Carson yesterday. The Box Factory is closed for a few days to repair the boiler. Miss Millard has been re-elected president of the National Temperance Union.

70 YEARS AGO

Persons who view the Armistice Day parade in Carson City will note a change of attire worn by the three majorettes, Grace Thomas, Thyra Hatton and Virginia Lytle. The majorettes will make their first appearance in skirts shortened to the length of skirts worn by the university majorettes - until the recent order to lengthen them.

50 YEARS AGO

Births: Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Wright are parents of a boy, weighing 7 pounds, 8-1/2 ounces born at Carson-Tahoe hospital.

Silver Springs appears to be taking on a greater importance to the eyes of outsiders who see the abundant and relatively inexpensive space of a bedroom community.
