Christopher Platt, 22, was born December 29, 1986, in Loma Linda, Calif., and passed away October 30, 2009, in Salina, Kan. He was a former resident of Gardnerville for 18 years and had resided in Salina for the last 4 years. Chris was a 2005 graduate of Douglas High School, attended Kansas State University, where he was a member of Alpha Eta Rho, and was employed by the Saline County Jail. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, James Rowe Sr. and Nick P. Platt; great-grandfathers, Ray Kilmer Sr. and Nick N. Platt; and great-grandmother, Ann Platt. Chris is survived by his parents, Craig and Tammy Platt; sisters, Larissa Tersteege and Brielyn Platt; nephew, Lucas Tersteege; grandmothers, Sondra Rowe of Oklahoma. and Lillian Platt of Washington; great-grandmothers, Marjorie Kilmer of Oklahoma and Dorothy Platt of California; girlfriend, Brittany Buttermore of Kansas; best friend, Dan Hardinger of Kansas; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Visitation will be Friday, Nov. 13, 2009, from 5-7 p.m. at Walton's Funerals and Cremations, 1521 Church St., Gardnerville. A funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, 2009, at Calvary Chapel of Carson Valley, 1004 Dresslerville Rd., Gardnerville. Interment will follow in Eastside Memorial Park in Minden.
