Obituary: John Leonhardt

John Leonhardt, 82, a long-time resident of Carson City and Las Vegas, died November 9, 2009, in Carson City.

Mr. Leonhardt was born July 6, 1927, in Oakland, Calif., to John Leonhardt and Theresa Schumacher. He retired from a long career in the casino industry and served during the World War II in the South Pacific and Japan.

He was preceded in death by his wife in 2006. Among his survivors are his only daughter Wendy Bacon; three grandchildren Melissa Leonhardt, Bryce Bacon, Brianna Bacon and one-great grandson Justin Leonhardt. He has two surviving sisters and one brother. 

My father was a wonderful man who gave all he had to the people he loved. He worked from the age of 13 after the passing of his own father to help take care of his loved ones. His unconditional love will never be forgotten. Until we are together again.
