Area Realtors receive industry awards

The Sierra Nevada Association of Realtors named Carson City Garrett Lepire Realtor of the quarter.

Lepire is a Carson City native and earned his Realtor's license at 18. He now specializes in residential, multi-family, investment real estate and distressed homes for Realty Executives Nevada's Choice.

The association also named Lori Duster affiliate of the quarter. Duster, who is the only accredited staging professional master in Northern Nevada, owns Set the Stage Home Staging in the Carson Valley. She lives in Minden.

The Sierra Nevada Association of Realtors also awarded Lepire and Carson City Realtor Heidi McFadden its annual dinner on Nov. 7.

Both were given the President's Awards for their commitments to the association.


Chamber invites applications for

leadership school

The Carson City Area Chamber of Commerce is seeking applicants for its Leadership Carson City 2010 program.

The nine-month program is designed to teach participants the ins and outs of the Carson City business community. Classes start in January during a two-day, overnight event. Classes are then once per month with a break in July.

Applications must be submitted no later than 4:30 p.m. Nov. 20, with a $250 deposit at the Carson City Area Chamber of Commerce, 1900 South Carson St., Suite 200.

Bank hosting online seminar on '7 Habits'

The Nevada State Bank will host a free online seminar featuring Stephen Covey, author of "The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People."

In 1996, Covey was named one of Time Magazine's "25 most influential people" for his role as a "human potential guru." The seminar is from 9 a.m.-10 p.m. Nov. 19. Space is limited.
