Area Realtors awarded

Heidi McFadden, a Carson City Realtor with Realty Executives Nevada's Choice, recently completed her Leadership Nevada Association of Realtors program.

The program, which teaches leadership skills, is open to Realtors living in the region.

Leslie Cain, of RE/MAX Realty Affiliates in Carson City, was awarded the Certified Residential Specialist designation by the Council of Residential Specialists. She also completed the Leadership NVAR course. About 40,000 Realtors around the nation have the CRS designation.


New assistant VP for Heritage Bank

Heritage Bank of Nevada promoted Marcos Ramirez to assistant vice president, the bank announced last week.

Ramirez joined Heritage Bank in January 2008 as the branch manager of the Spanish Springs branch in Sparks.

Before joining Heritage Bank, Ramirez worked for Wells Fargo Bank where he was in charge of staffing, training and development of tellers and bankers.


Green seminar for builders to be at WNC

A green building seminar, which includes lessons on properly insulating homes, is scheduled for April 21 in Western Nevada College campuses in Carson City and Minden.

The Douglas County class, 1680 Bently Parkway South in Minden, starts at 8:30 a.m. The seminar will be in room 106. The Carson City class, at the WNC campus at 2201 W. College Parkway, begins at 1:30 p.m.

The classes last about three and a half hours.

Barbara Collins, a National Association of Home Builders certified Green Verifier, will teach the class. She has also earned the U.S. Department of Energy Nation Energy Award.

Dayton Boys & Girls Club meeting planned

The Health Communities Coalition will host a meeting to discuss a Boys & Girls Club in Dayton at 6 p.m. April 20 at Dayton High School multipurpose room B.

The meeting will feature Travis Crowder from the Boys and Girls Club of Mason Valley.

Carson City builder to start new project

Shaheen Beauchamp Builders LLC., is starting construction on Wild About Smiles Dental Office in Fallon. The 2,000 square foot office will be at 2152 Williams Street, Suite B. It will be completed by the end of May.

Wild About Smiles, which has locations in Carson City and Sparks, specializes in pediatric and children's dental care.


NBC's April breakfast meeting in Reno

Nevada Business Connections will hold its next breakfast meeting at 8 a.m. April 22 inside the Atlantic Casino in Reno.

The event will feature Republican senatorial candidate Sue Lowden and John Dunn, representing Nevadans 4 Carbon Free Energy.
