Friday's winds kept Lyon County responders busy all day long, according to Jeff Page emergency management coordinator.

The Mason Valley area had two reported brush fires and four downed wire calls. The first brush fire was reported at 9:53 a.m. at the Mason Valley Wildlife Management Area. It was determined there was no fire but the wind had blown a ash and dust from a previous fire. The second fire was reported at 12:44 p.m. in the area of Mason Road and Highway 208. Fire crews were busy with that fire until 7 p.m. There were also four reported line down/electrical problem calls in the area.

The North Lyon County Fire Protection District responded to five downed line and/or electrical problems and the Central Lyon County Fire Protection District responded to seven downed line and/or electrical problem calls.

Lyon County Office of Emergency Management LCOEM received a number of reports of damaged roofs, fences and trees, said Page.

There were sporadic power outages throughout Lyon County.

Page said citizens who have wind damage should contact their insurance carrier to process a claim.
