Three men, one of them armed with a handgun, robbed the Frontier Market this morning at the motel located at 1718 N. Carson St.
Owner Bobby Thind said three men entered the store just after clerk Raj Singh opened up at 8 a.m.
Thind said one of the men asked Singh about a particular type of alcohol, and Singh gestured for the man to come to the side of the counter to look at the bottles closer.
When the man did, he quickly pulled out a handgun and pressed it to Singh's side. The robber then removed the cash from the register, while his friends stood and watched.
The three then casually left the store.
It's believed they fled southbound on Carson Street in an older model Chevy sedan.
One man was described as a white male, 40 years of age, with gray hair and a beard and mustache. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt.
The gunman is described as a black male about 5-feet-9-inches to 6-feet tall. The third suspect was also a black man about 5-feet-6-inches tall. One of the men had a beard and both were also wearing black hooded sweatshirts and appeared to be in their mid 20s.
All three men were wearing blue jeans.
In addition to the money in the register, the men also took with them a bottle of Barcardi Gold rum and a 24-ounce can of Coors.
Anyone with information on the robbery is asked to call Detective Bob Motamenpour at 887-2020 ext. 41406.
