Highway Patrol K-9 makes pot bust

One of the Nevada Highway Patrol's K-9 units scored a major marijuana bust Tuesday afternoon.

The dog alerted his trooper after the officer stopped a sport utility vehicle for speeding eastbound on Interstate 80 in Elko County.

Inside the vehicle, there were two cases containing a total of 52 pounds of marijuana.

Ryan Tucker, 24, of Charlotte, N.C., was arrested on charges of possession of a controlled substance for sale, and speeding.

His bail was set at $23,389.
