A drunken man made an exhibition of himself yesterday on the Capitol block. Even the dusky maidens laughed at the contortions of the drunken fool. When his advances did not impress the maidens, he attempted to follow them and at the corner of Carson Street and Warm Springs Road (Fifth Street) was met by a young buck who sent the white man to the mud.

100 YEARS AGO

Ormsby County may have a county high school if plans being prepared and discussed by school trustees are carried out. It will depend largely on the attitude of the county commissioners and taxpayers of the county.

70 YEARS AGO

Friends of artist Maynard Dixon gathered recently to give the renown figure a proper send off from San Francisco. Dixon, a regular figure in Carson City is leaving the city by the bay and going back to the desert.

50 YEARS AGO

Harley Carter, mayor of Carson City, has accepted the chairmanship for the financial drive for Boy Scouts, Nevada Area Council Boy Scouts of America.

Gov. Bob Miller refused a request to store military radioactive materials from Colorado in Nevada.

Funeral services were held today for Zane Miles, former Lander County District Attorney.
