Motorcycle donated to library foundation

A 2007 Yamaha TW200 dual purpose motorcycle has been donated to the Carson City Library Foundation and will be raffled off at 3 p.m. Nevada Day, Oct. 31.

The motorcycle has only 44 miles of use and was donated by a local library patron. The winner will win a street-legal motorcycle that is also great for off-road

riding.

The winner need not be present to win but will be responsible for taxes, registration and license.

A limited number of tickets are available at $5 each. Tickets may be purchased at the Carson City Library. For more information call 887-2244 or go to www.carsoncitylibrary.org.

An evening of wine, beer and friends

A night at Piper's Opera House sponsored by Piper's Old Corner Bar and Sierra Wine & Spirits will take place from 4-7 p.m. Sunday.

There will be 15 wines to taste and 12 beers, and everyone will receive a complimentary wine glass. Hors d'oeuvres will be served and Squeek Steele will be at the piano.

All proceeds will go toward Piper's Opera House.

Search and Rescue hosts Trails & Tails

Dog lovers are invited to the Carson City Sheriff's Search and Rescue's 14th Annual Trails & Tails which starts with registration at 8:30 a.m. Saturday at Spooner Lake Park in Lake Tahoe.

Events include a 1⁄2-mile kids' run, a two-mile scenic walk/run, the 10K Ruff Trail Run, and a warm meal for all participants afterwards.

Registration fees, which can be paid upon arrival, are $40 per person, $25 for youths under the age of 17, $15 for kids younger than 11, and $100 per family of four.

Proceeds from the event will be donated to support the Carson City Sheriff's Search and Rescue Team.

Located in Carson City, the K-9 Search and Rescue Team is a nonprofit volunteer organization that assists local, state and federal agencies in the search for missing persons.
