Obituary: Michael Hanchett

Michael Hanchett, a Dayton resident, passed away on October 21, 2009.

Michael was born in Friend, Neb., the fourth child of James and Ruth Hanchett.

He attended Whittier College and received his masters degree in accounting from University of Southern California.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1967-1969, and was a Vietnam veteran.

Mike began his own accounting firm, Sierra Financial in Carson City, in 1993 and worked there until his passing.

He enjoyed golfing, vacationing in Mexico, and fishing with his many friends. He was also very generous with his time and talents to many charities.

Mike is survived by his sister Colleen Phillips and two brothers, Jim and Charles, numerous nephews and nieces and many dear friends.

He will be laid to rest in Riverside National Cemetery, Riverside, Calif.

In lieu of flowers, the family and friends request donations to be made to the SPCA or the Junior Golf Association.
