The Mile High Jazz Band and vocalist Sheryl Adams will be joined by award-winning poets for a lively evening of big-band jazz music and poetry.

The topic "Fame and Fortune" will be presented from 8-10 p.m. Tuesday at Comma Coffee, outdoors in the courtyard, weather permitting.

Krista Benjamin, Rita Geil, and other poets will be featured.

Comma Coffee is located at 312 S. Carson Street, across the street from the state legislature building in Carson City. Admission is $5, and free for age 18 and under. Swing dance instruction from 6-7:30 p.m., indoors, is $5 additional.

"The Fame and Fortune theme, in all its ramifications, alternates poetry readings and music, and the audience discovers the connections," said David Bugli, leader and pianist for the Mile High Jazz Band.
