The Kit Carson Toastmasters Club held two recent speech contests. The Humorous Speech Contest was Sept. 1, and Table Topics Contest was held on Sept. 8.

The winner of the Humorous Speech Contest was Michael Bish, with second place honors going to Cheryl Bouchard.

Ron Burke was the first place winner for the Table Topics competition, with second place going to Fred Daniels, and third place to Frank Taylor. The winners will move on to regional competition with other local area Toastmaster clubs.

The Kit Carson Toastmasters Club meets at 6:30 a.m. every Tuesday morning at Grandma Hattie's Family Restaurant, located at 2811 South Carson Street.

The public is always welcome to attend and observe our meetings and, on the first visit, enjoy a free breakfast on the club as our guest.

The purpose of Toastmasters is to improve communication and leadership skills in a fun, supportive environment.
