Alex Arciniega's single in the top of the sixth snapped a 3-all tie and gave Western Nevada a 4-3 win in the second game of Saturday's Scenic West Conference doubleheader at Colorado Northwestern.
In the opener, WNC blew a 2-0 lead and dropped a 4-2 decision. WNC and Colorado Northwestern each have four conference wins and are tied for the last playoff spot.
Jennifer Watkins scattered six hits to pick up the win for the Wildcats. She struck out four and walked three.
"She threw well," WNC coach Leah Wentworth said. "It's her first win in conference, and it was well deserved."
Frances Estrada, Alicia Merrell, Ashley Williams, Paige Savage, Ashley Hall and Arciniega all had one hit in the second-game win.
Watkins pitched well in the opener, allowing just three hits and allowing just two earned runs.
WNC led 2-0 entering the bottom of the third, but Colorado Northwestern scored two in the third, one in the fourth and one in the fifth to win.
Lisa Senko drove in a run for the Wildcats. Arciniega hit a triple and Williams hit a double.
