A Carson City nursing home and rehabilitation center is donating 120 beds to Haiti after an earthquake in January devastated the island nation.
Evergreen Healthcare, 3050 Ormsby Blvd., received 120 new beds this week, prompting the company to donate the replaced beds to Haiti relief efforts.
Brianne Thacker, the activities director at Evergreen, said the beds are expected to arrive in Haiti by next week.
"The residents are fortunate for the new beds," Thacker said. "They watch the news and saw all this devastating stuff happened. So for them to be a part of this is pretty cool."
