November 6, 1912 - March 23, 2010

Madeline Cecilia Raimondo peacefully ended her journey on earth and went to be with God on March 23, 2010, at the age of 97. She was born in Chicago, Ill., to John Schoemer and Mary Reiter Schoemer on November 6, 1912. She was raised in Fresno, Calif., and Kerman, Calif., where her mother Mary, who was widowed, ran the Kerman Inn.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Leonard Raimondo in November of 2000, and her son John Gary Raimondo, who passed away at age 35 in 1979, and also by her four brothers who lived in Fresno.

Madeline lived in Walnut Creek, Calif., for 45 years with her husband Johnny. They were married for 61 years. She lived in Carson City for three years, then Minden and Gardnerville for the last six years of her life.

She is survived by her daughter Susan Lewis and husband Walter (Al) Lewis of Minden; daughter-in-law and son-in-law Dianne Felker and her husband Marc Felker of Clayton, Calif.; granddaughter Dana Fitzgerald and her husband Kevin Fitzgerald of Clayton; granddaughter Tara Thomas of Loma Rica, Calif.; grandson David Lewis and his wife Krystal Lewis of Carson City; granddaughter Crystal Lewis of Durant, Okla.; and her great-grandchildren Tyler Fitzgerald, Sean Fitzgerald, Jake Trujillo, Jacqueline Trujillo, Bridget Lewis, Kayla Lewis, and another Lewis grandchild on the way.

Madeline is dearly missed by her family. Being a great mom and grandmother, she cared for her family with love and a kind heart, always taking care of their needs at home and offering hospitality to others.

She and Johnny had a great marriage and enjoyed visiting and having barbecues with their family and friends, leaving many happy memories for their children.

Madeline was laid to rest with her husband Johnny in Oakmont Memorial Park in Lafayette, Calif. FitzHenry's Carson Valley Funeral Home is caring for arrangements.
