High winds predicted in area

RENO - The National Weather Service in Reno is predicting high winds in the area as a cold front sweeps into the region.

Forecasters say winds could be up to 65 miles per hour Monday night and Tuesday morning in some parts of the Truckee Meadows, with gusts over 70 mph possible in some local areas.

Carson City will see winds between 40 and 50 mph, and sgusts between 60 and 80 mph.

Winds are expected to die down by Tuesday night as precipitation moves into the region.

Temperatures Wednesday are expected to be in the upper 40s, or about 15 to 20 degrees cooler than on Tuesday.

The area will see a chance of rain on Tuesday, with more rain on Wednesday and a slight chance of snow. The storm is expected to remain in the area through Saturday.
