Library showcases kids needing homes

If you stop by the Carson City Library in August, you'll see a lighted glass case with tons of information about a huge need in our community for foster/host/adoptive families for kids in state care. Kids in state custody need homes here so they won't have to leave schools, friends, and relatives to live in foster homes as far as Fernley or Sparks. The display by the Department of Children and Family Services and CASA of Carson City has pictures and bios of kids waiting to be adopted along with brochures with information about becoming a foster parent and more. The goal is help more people realize they can open their homes too. I can tell you first hand, it is a fun and very rewarding experience.

RED FRIDAYs

Wear red on Fridays. The reason? To show every American soldier our support and thanks for their continued sacrifices. It is a silent reminder that we care, that we remember and that we shall never forget. Voicing our love for God, country and home by wearing red sounds pretty great to me because, at the end of the day, I am proud to be an American.
