You'll find several authors from the region out signing books on Saturday. Take your choice of genres from mystery, sports, and non-fiction self-improvement books.
• Join Tim Mueller for a book signing for "Homeruns & Jackpots: Baseball in Nevada," 1-4 p.m. Saturday at Rocking and Rolling, 402 N. Curry St.
Mueller chronicles his personal journey as a baseball fan, moving from Southern California where he listened to Vin Scully on radio and TV, to Reno, which he thought was close to Siberia, at least in terms of baseball. Then he discovered minor league baseball at Moana Stadium. The love of the game led him to interview players and coaches, and to visit stadiums across the U.S. collecting baseball stories unique to Nevada along the way.

• Josee Perrine, author of "The Saber-Toothed Tiger: The One Reason Women Stay With Abusive Men" (iUniverse), will sign books from 2-4 p.m. Saturday at Borders Books, 911 Topsy Lane, Carson City.
Perrine is a marriage and family therapist with a private practice in Carson City who also teaches a course in family interaction at the University of Nevada, Reno.
In "The Saber-Toothed Tiger" she investigates loneliness from its source as a primary emotion rooted in the human need for survival to its effect on women today. Such loneliness is primitive and terrifying, which is why Perrine personifies it as a saber-toothed tiger and why the fear of loneliness can keep a woman in an abusive relationship.
Although the book contains research information, it is written for the lay person. The author seeks to help women understand how pervasive loneliness drives their behavior.
