One Indian while sitting on the shady side of Wagner's store yesterday afternoon devoured two large watermelons. If that child of nature didn't think there was a Mexican revolution going on in his stomach last night, then there must be a mistake in his anatomical construction.

A correspondent from Lake Tahoe says that Glenbrook has come to life and is one of the favorite camping spots about Tahoe. The writer visited Shakespeare this morning and says the old gentleman is feeling hale and hearty and sends his regards. He says that from his vantage point, it looks like Bryan will be elected. While standing on the dock, his attention was drawn to a most beautiful sight, a "mere maid."

80 YEARS AGO

The Carson Hot Springs, some two miles from this town has received the endor-sement of the state board of health. The approval of the state board of health is worth knowing locally and abroad.

50 YEARS AGO

Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Redican of Carson City had a girl at Carson-Tahoe hospital Aug. 16.

It was 13 days of hell for Susan Carlough as for two weeks her children, Jennifer, 11, and Justin, 10, were trapped behind enemy lines in war-torn Kuwait. Her children are safe after a perilous 20-hour trek across the 115-degree heat of Kuwait to Bahrain.

The 9,400-year-old Spirit Cave man is Native American, but may not be returned to any Northern Nevada tribes according to the Bureau of Land Management.
