The Carson City District Attorney's Office is awaiting the outcome of a Stagecoach man's trial in Lyon County on 20 charges of child sexual assault and lewdness before determining if they will move ahead with charges here.

A Lyon County judge on Wednesday determined there was enough evidence to try William Caron, 33, on 14 counts of sexual assault and three counts of lewdness against three young girls. He was bound over in April on three counts of sexual assault against two other girls.

During testimony in Dayton on Wednesday, a 12-year-old victim said that on several occasions between July and December 2009 Caron took her to the hills off Deer Run Road and sexually assaulted her there.

Assistant Carson City District Attorney Gerald Gardner said Thursday the Lyon County Sheriff's Office brought the allegations to the attention of the Carson City Sheriff's Office in December shortly after Caron was arrested.

"Our basic position on this is to see how things proceed in Lyon County then review it for possible charges in Carson City," said Gardner.

Caron is being held on $400,000 bail.

He'll be arraigned in the 3rd Judicial District Court in Yerington on Aug. 30.
