Carson City
The following people were booked into the Carson City Jail. All suspects are innocent until proved guilty in court:
• A 28-year-old carpet cleaner from Stagecoach was arrested at 11:54 a.m. Wednesday on suspicion of misdemeanor driving on a suspended license and two warrants for failure to appear on a traffic citation. Bail was set at $2,872.
• A 30-year-old Carson City man was arrested at 4:06 p.m. Wednesday in the 3300 block of Highway 50 East on suspicion of misdemeanor petty larceny. He allegedly tried to steal coffee and DVDs totaling $54.43 from Save Mart on Highway 50 East. Bail was set at $347.
The following are some of the calls to which deputies responded Wednesday:
• Report of "several expensive items" stolen overnight from a car on Lake Glen Drive.
• Report at 1:44 p.m. of a blue mountain bike with black writing taken from the 400 block of Hot Springs Road possibly by someone working community service in the area.
• Report of a purse stolen from the Public Utilities Commission office on East William Street at 2:11 p.m.
• A woman reported at 3:06 p.m. her estranged husband broke down her door and took a chair and a carving.
• Coroner call in the 4100 block of Capitol View Drive at 3:28 p.m.
• A child was hit by a car in the 3400 block of Woodside Drive at 7:04 p.m. Minor injuries were reported.
• A shoplifting suspect was arrested at 7:35 p.m. at Walmart.
• Report at 9:57 p.m. of an attempted burglary in the 3000 block of South Edmonds Drive.
• Two women visiting family here and staying a hotel arrived at the emergency room at 9:30 p.m. saying they thought someone slipped something in their drinks at a Carson City bar earlier in the evening. A drug screen for both women found nothing.
Lyon County
The following are some of the calls to which deputies responded Wednesday:
• A vehicle hit a cow on Highway 50 Alternate in Fernley at 1:36 a.m.
• A horse trailer hit a Lexus on Pine Cone Road in Dayton at 11:26 a.m.
• A caller reported at 5:31 p.m. that his vehicle was struck by another on Highway 50 East. Then the other driver took off. The caller said he was filming the driver as he followed him onto Sheepcamp Drive.
