The Kit Carson Toastmasters will host a humorous speech contest amongst members Sept. 7.

The event will take place 6:30 a.m. at Grandma Hattie's Restaurant, 2811 S. Carson St.

This is a free event and the public is welcome. The winner will be chosen from Kit Carson Toastmasters members and will go on to the Area 22 contest in Carson City on Sept. 18.

Fred Daniels will be the contest chair and Tim Mueller will be the chief judge. The winners of the Area 22 contest will then compete in the Division B contest in Reno on Oct. 2, and those winners will then compete in November at the Fall Convention for District 39.

The three Carson clubs are among more than 11,700 Toastmaster clubs around the world participating in speech contests this month.
