Faye Ritenour was born Virginia Faye Pierce on Aug. 27, 1932, in Caraway, Ark. She peacefully passed away on Aug. 25, 2010, surrounded by her family in Carson City. She was 77.

She is survived by her husband, Bill Ritenour; three daughters, Christal Gardner, Glenda Crawford, Karen Case; stepdaughter Betty Joanne Skinsky; and three brothers, Bud, Benny, Sam; sister Dorothy; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Faye was a faithful believer in Jesus Christ and was very active in her church. She had a heart for service and recently volunteered her time to CASA, advocating for children in need.

Faye loved to camp and travel to her home away from home, Hawaii. She was a great bridge player and practical joker. She had enough shoes to open up her own chain of shoe stores. She loved the yearly WOWs (Weird Old Women) she had with her girls and their girls. She loved playing dominos (but cheated). Life was better when you were around her. She will be greatly missed.

There will be a funeral service at 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 28 at Autumn Funerals & Cremations, 1575 N. Lompa Lane, Carson City.
