DAYTON - The Community Health Nursing clinics throughout Lyon County offer many conveniently located and very affordable services for men, women, and children. The Dayton Community Health Nursing clinic at 34 Lakes Blvd. hosts regular appointment hours, as well as walk-in clinics, men's clinics, and translation services.

Men's Clinic Services: Because men are sometimes more likely to seek health services when "men's appointment hours" are set aside, Dayton Community Health has added a new Men's Clinic each Wednesday from 3:30-5 p.m., by appointment. The new Men's Clinic will include the Community Health office's usual services, including immunizations, HIV testing, testicular exams, sexual health screenings and treatment (urine test only), smoking cessation assistance.

Expanded Translation Services: All clinics in Lyon offer a free phone translation service as well. Any non-English speaking client can request the free translation service at any Community Health Nursing clinic. The clear policy and procedure already in place makes this a simple process when scheduling an appointment. On Thursday, Dec. 2 between 9:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m., the Dayton clinic will also have a Spanish language interpreter in the office.

Walk In Clinics in Dayton: Walk-In Clinic hours at Dayton Community Health are on Tuesdays from 8:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m. and from 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. - please bring your shot records.

Services for Women, Men, and Children: Services include Family Planning and health services for both females and males; referrals for women to the Women's Health Connection; STD testing and counseling; placing TB tests and providing auxillary support if needed; WIC and Well-Child Exam & services; children's immunizations, fluoride varnish applications; test collections for blood lead; and annual flu clinics. Clinics also offer breast, cervical and testicular cancer screenings and offer blood pressure checks for senior citizens.

Fees: services are based on a sliding- scale fee related to income factors, specific services, WIC, Medicaid, and cash contributions

What You Can Expect: The medical health professionals at the clinic offer quality health care, and will show respect for your privacy, will give straightforward answers to your questions, up to date health information, and can offer strategies to stay healthy.
