During the early morning hours of Nov. 30, 2010, Beverly Eve Batdorf lost her valiant seven-year battle with breast cancer as she moved on to dwell in the House of the Lord during her sleep. Her husband of more than 49 years was by her side. She was born March 23, 1943, in Los Angeles. She was preceded in death by her father David Golden. She is survived by her husband Sam; mother Sara; sons Lawrence (Marie) and Kenneth (Jennifer). Her grandchildren Emily, Michael, Eric and Brooke provided her with constant pleasure and the desire to fight to see them for Thanksgiving. She is survived by both her siblings Sandy Golden (Vivian) and Robin Rojas (Ray). Her surviving nephews are Daniel, Jeffrey, Aaron, and niece Rachael.
She attended University of California where she meet her future husband. After her sons entered elementary school, she started a career in the public schools that lasted 30 years. During that time she "graduated" from elementary, to adult school (ESL), high school and completed that career at the Garden Grove School District. Upon retirement in June 2000, she and her husband moved to Gardnerville. She loved bridge and was a Silver Life Master, but even more important to her than awards, were the many dear friends she met over the tables. Besides bridge, her great loves were her family, cruising, traveling, gardening and home life. Despite her courage, cheerfulness and so many notable interests and talents, she merely wanted to be remembered as "Loving Wife."
