Obituary: John Charles Pekar

John Charles Pekar, 76, of Gardnerville, died Nov. 30, 2010. He was born Jan. 6, 1934, in Granger, Texas, to Charles and Frances Pekar. John is a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Pekar and sisters, Janie Klepac, Hattie Volek, Carolyn Redford and Maryann Martinez. Survivors include his wife, Faye Pekar of Gardnerville; sons J. Scott (Ninie) of South Lake Tahoe and Tracy L. Pekar of Gardnerville; brother Bart Pekar and sisters Alice Welborn, Francis Polasek, Matylda Klepac, Helen Malcik, Shirley Hutka, Georgia Dubcak and Susan Strokes, all of Temple, Texas; and three grandchildren. A celebration of life will be held for John at a later date. Walton's Funerals and Cremations in Gardnerville is in charge of final arrangements.
