The Mark Twain Garden Club of Carson City made two donations to the city this summer for landscaping projects.

Two trees, a flowering crabapple and ornamental pear, were donated to the Mills Park landscaping project in memory of club members Jane Schlotterer, Elinor Benson, Muriel Darliing, and Marilyn Edmunds.

Members also assisted with the tree planting and a memorial service dedicating the trees. They were club president Sable Shaw, charter member Gertrude Gottschalk, along with members Pat Holub, Ann Wagner, Bonnie Bullis, Elaine Berge, Lois Hill, and Laurie Walsh. Attending the memorial service were Katja and Allie Edmunds, daughter-in-law and granddaughter of Marilyn Edmunds.

The garden club also contributed funds for landscaping projects in the new Fuji Park Fishing Pond in Carson City.

Anyone wanting more information about membership in the Mark Twain Garden Club may call Jan Perry at 884-1448, or Ann Wagner at 882-8794.
