Saint Mary's Hospice will host a memorial tree lighting, "Light Up A Life," from 6-8 p.m. tonight at Hilltop Community Church, 3616 N. Sunridge Dr. in Jacks Valley.
Holidays are difficult days for those who have lost a loved one. Saint Mary's wants those grieving to know they are not alone.
The event will include a tree lighting, music and a name-reading ceremony. A reception with refreshments will follow. Those who cannot attend but would like a loved to be honored during the ceremony can call 775-770-6018 or 775-770-6008 and leave the name, including spelling.
Loved ones can also be remembered through the Memory Tree Program of Saint Mary's Hospice. One memorial Christmas ball inscribed with the name of the deceased can be purchased for a suggested donation of $20. It will be placed on a Memory Tree through January 3.
Contributions allow Saint Mary's Hospice of Northern Nevada to continue its work in meeting the needs of terminally ill patients and their families.
