LAS VEGAS (AP) - Nye County sheriff's detectives say the county's public administrator was tied up during a home invasion robbery.

Detectives tell the Las Vegas Sun that a handful of men and women dressed in black with ski masks over their faces broke into Robert Jones' home Saturday night.

Investigators say the suspects tied up Jones and left with undisclosed items from his home.

Detectives say it wasn't a random attack and that Jones was apparently targeted because of his official position.

No motive was offered and no suspects have been arrested.

Officials issued a statement calling on the armed suspects to turn themselves in.
